About Lutellus

Lutellus is a Canberra-based technology advisory and delivery company, founded to serve the Australian public sector with clear thinking and practical execution.

The name

Lutellus is named in homage to our Founder’s great-great uncle, Bryant Lutellus (Bob) Lindley, a First World War pilot who flew more than 30 missions in some of the earliest military aircraft. He was awarded the Military Cross for conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty, and was posted missing in action in June 1918 at the age of 19.

He served in 25 Squadron, Royal Air Force, whose motto was "Striking I Defend." That spirit, acting with courage, duty and purpose, is what Lutellus seeks to carry forward into its work.

Why we exist

The Australian public sector is facing a period of unprecedented disruption. Technologies like large language models are changing the economics of software delivery, but they also bring risk: vendor hype, rushed implementations, and solutions looking for problems.

Lutellus exists to help Federal organisations cut through that noise. We bring hands-on technical experience, multi-vendor perspective, and a focus on outcomes rather than optics.

How we work

  • Independent: We are not tied to any vendor, so advice is shaped by your needs, not a sales target.
  • Practical: We prototype and evaluate before recommending expensive commitments.
  • Accountable: We deliver what we say we will, even when conditions are difficult.
